Hi. I’m Laura.
While beginning this journey, I was asked who my audience was and what my overall theme was. To be completely honest, these were difficult questions to answer. Most of my ideas and writings center around Western culture. The reality is, politics, history, the Church, and culture are not independent entities. They all intersect and impact one another. I know that most people think that these things have nothing to do with each other, but they are incredible interrelated and require examination simultaneously.
As Andrew Breitbart once said, “Politics is downstream from culture.” And you can’t understand history without examining the political and ideological landscape of various time periods. Additionally, the state and condition of the Western Church has a tremendous impact on the way our culture leans. When the Church falls apart, and in many ways, it has, the moral foundation on which the U.S. was founded begins to crumble.
This blog is not for the faint of heart. It is a broad scale critique of Western culture and observation of the current state of our world. From history, politics, the Church, feminism, parenting, and the decline of the nuclear family, no subject is off limits. Are you ready to have some difficult conversations? My hope and prayer is that I can help people find a bit of clarity in a time of confusion.
